The website www.vittascience.com places a small text file (a "cookie") on your computer, tablet or mobile device when you visit it. This allows us to measure the number of visits and understand which pages are viewed the most.
That's right, you didn't have to click on a block covering half the page to say you agree to the use of cookies. Nothing exceptional, no special exemption.
We simply comply with the law, which states that certain audience measurement tools, when properly configured to respect privacy, are exempt from prior consent.
To this end, we use Matomo, a free/open-source tool, configured to comply with the CNIL's "Cookies" recommendation. This means that your IP address, for example, is anonymized before being recorded. It is therefore impossible to link your visits to this site to you personally.
This configuration allows for exemption from the requirement to obtain consent, in accordance with Article 5 of Deliberation No. 2019-093 of July 4, 2019 adopting guidelines on the application of Article 82 of the amended Act of January 6, 1978 to read/write operations on a user's device (in particular cookies and other trackers).
You can disable this statistical tracking, so that Matomo will stop including your visits in the statistics. To do so, please follow one of these procedures:
